Okay! So not really but since we couldn't go to the beach the next best thing was Arizona. Over spring break, we flew down to Arizona to visit Ryan, Liz, and Kyle. It was absolutely WONDERFUL to experience some warm weather for a change. The winter has dragged on long enough here in Rexburg. Abby is even getting sick of the cold. She is ready to experience the wonderful world outside, basking in the warmth of the sun! (I bought this cute outfit especially for our vacation in Arizona!)
We then visited a little ghost town called Goldsfield, located at the base of Superstition Mountain.
It was really neat and very interesting to learn about the history of the town.
Legend has it that some good for nothin' Dutch golddigger found a whole bunch of gold in them there foothills. But just before he kicked the bucket he blewed up them openin' s to all his goldmines, leaving no trace of where the gold is bur'd. People still come 'round a' lookin for them goldmines, in hopes of a gettin' rich!
We unfortunately ran out of time before we could go a' lookin'! We did however enjoy our tour 'round the town!
Finally, We couldn't visit Arizona without going swimming. DUH!!! We were under the impression before we arrived that we would have the luxury of a warm (yes I know!) and private swimming pool. But upon arrival we found out otherwise. It was the complex's pool and it was by no meaning of the word WARM! But it didn't seem to bother Kyle or Abby!
All in all we had a fabulous vacation. Thanks Ryan, Liz, and Kyle. We look forward to our next visit!
