Dentist Field Trip

So I guess February is national tooth or dentist month or something like that.

To celebrate, Hannah and her preschool class took another field trip, this time to the dentist!

We went to the pediatric dentist in town where they taught the kids what will happen when they come to the dentist.

You know your dentist is awesome when there's a huge playground in the waiting room!

After all the kids arrived they got a tour of the dentist office.

They first learned how the hygienists will brush their teeth.

She showed them the spinning toothbrush, how she sprays water into their mouth, and then how she sucks it out!

The kids even got to use the "straw" to suck up water from the cup.

Next they were given a "quiz" on good food and bad food!

Then they got to "ride" up and down on the dentists chair!

The kids loved this part!

And because they were such good kids they got to pick a treasure.

Although Hannah has already been,

I though this was a great way to get the kids comfortable with going to the dentist!

President's Day

Mark and Abby both had President's Day off from school.

So I told the girls if they helped me really good on Saturday get the house cleaned and laundry done 

that we could do something fun on Monday.

After only a few (okay, several) reminders the work was complete!

So the fun things we did on Monday were...

A haircut for each of the girls....except me!  I chickened out!

It's not the greatest picture (I want to take a photography class SO SO bad!) but I love their cuts none-the-less!

After their haircuts Daddy treated us to lunch.

Couldn't say no to that!

That night for FHE we decided to go bowling.

One of our families all time favorite activities.

I just love my sweet boy! 

I think one of the girls took this shot too!  They have been obsessed with my camera lately!

I just love a good productive day at home followed by a well-deserved fun family outing.

Love Day

Valentine's Day was NOT the most romantic, and definitely NOT the most original,

but I was with the ones I love most and that's just how I wanted it!

Earlier in the week the girls and I made our heart shaped crayons (again!) for their classmates Valentine's.

This will probably be the last year I can get away with making them,

but it's great for getting rid of all the broken crayons that my girls refuse to use!

I also got asked to help out with Abby's Valentine's Party for her class.

It was SOOOO much fun!

I was in charge of the game so I brought Valentine's Bingo.
It was so sweet to see how excited the little kids got over something so simple.
A great reminder for me to sit back and enjoy the simple things

On Valentine's Day we kicked off the morning with some YUMMY red-velvet pancakes.

The girls and I discovered this recipe a few years ago and everytime I ask the girls what we should have for dinner, without fail they suggest these pancakes!

I figured Valentine's morning was the perfect occasion to finally indulge them!

Super sweet but SUPER DELICIOUS!!!

My mom and Heidi joined the festivities.

I invited them out not only for Valentine's breakfast but to say farewell to Aunt Heidi.

 She was going to Hawaii for the week!  We are going to miss her!

Sammy rose to the occasion with his Red Hawaiin shirt!

Mark and Abby didn't have school so we pretty much vegged out the rest of the day.
That night, however, we were back to celebrating.
Mark bought each of the girls (including me) a flower and a balloon.
It was funny because he usually gives them the flowers for breakfast, but this year he was a little late.
The girls noticed and were definitely dissappointed when there was not flower at the table for them.
Luckily he came through at dinner.

For dinner we got a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's

The girls thought it was the most amazing thing ever!

Then we watched some Olympics while slurping on our "Cupid Floats"!

On a side note: Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE watching the Olympics!!!

The girls must have had a great time that night because they recreated the whole thing the next day in the playroom.

They even took this picture!

I am so grateful for Valentines day and the cute little family I get to share it with!

Mark's Birthday/Superbowl Party

We celebrated Mark's 33rd (Eeek!) birthday this week!  Twice!

The first time was on his actual birthday.

We brought him an ice cream cake at school and then took him out to eat at Applebees!

It was the girls choice, but I think they were thinking more about the "green dip" (Artichoke dip)

than about wether or not daddy would really like to go there. 

But he was a good sport and humored them anyways!

The second time we celebrated was on Sunday....Superbowl Sunday!

To justify going all out for the Superbowl I decided it would be okay to double as Mark's birthday party too!

He wasn't to keen on the idea of decorating all orange and blue for the Broncos,

but for my family's sake (I was born a Broncos fan, but became a 49"ers fan for him!) he just went with it.

Plus we definitely weren't rooting for the Seahawks!  Booo!

So like any party I throw, clearly the most important thing is the food, because that's the only thing I get a picture of.

I have like fifty shades of blue and orange scattered throughout, but you get the idea of who we were rooting for!

I did manage to capture these cute football fans in-training enjoying their dinner during the game.

It was a super DISSAPOINTING, down right PATHETIC, like WORST game ever!

But the company was great and the food was fantastic.
