It's Official... I am obsessed!

Happy Presidents Day Everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend. We sure did. Every year on Presidents Day weekend we go up to a Condo in Island Park. We have so much fun eating, swimming, eating, snowmachining, eating, sleeping, and eating. (You've gotta know my family...all we do is eat!) Anyways we were pleasently surprised at how much snow is up in Island Park. (We have been a little disappointed that last few years) It was absolutely beautiful. Here see for you self!

After the initial shock and amazement of the amount of snow... (Sorry I keep bringing it up), we settled in for our long winter's nap...yeah right! We took Abby swimming for the first time ever. Turns out she is quite a natural when it comes to swimming. She absolutely LOVED the water. She would kick her legs and fling her arms... as if she was actually swimming. (Well.... sort of!) We laid her on her back to float...I was holding onto her of course... she was totally relaxed and could have fallen asleep right then and there floating in the water! We had a blast!

Another one of our traditions we do while at the Condo, is take a snowmachine ride to Big Springs and to our Cabin. We take this ride to... once again.... see how much snow is at the cabin. (I've decided were obsessesdwith measuring snow!) Here are a few pictures we took along the way. No Abby was not with us... she stayed home with grandma!

This is all of us...excluding me.. in front of the Cabin. If you look closely you can see the tip of the cabin roof behind them. The kids had to literally be thrown up onto the snow bank.It so beautiful to see the snow so undisturbed and flawless. And so peaceful and quite in the woods...until we revved up our snowmachines of course! Anways it was once again amazing to see how much snow there is!

Well despite the wonderful weekend... all good things must come to an end... literally. I guess Abby must have had way to much fun partying it up at the Condo, because when we got back home, we found out that Abby had somehow contracted the RSV virus. She is in pretty bad shape, but fortunately she does not have to be hospitalized. The doctors are taking her condition pretty seriously and have told me that she should not leave the house until spring...WHAT!?! Are you kidding me!?! I have now come to grips that my live is officially over, and am actually looking forward to the things I will get done now that I am under house arrest (I have a feeling there may be many more blog posts in sight)... but you know it is all worth it to help prevent my daughter from getting any sicker. We are praying for her to get better and are so grateful for the modern medicine that makes it possible. We would also appreciate your prayers as well.

Rexburg... A Winter Wonderland

Today Mark got out of school for like the fifth time this year already, so we decided to take some pictures of how much snow we really have here in good ole Rexburg. (I love it!) And by-the-way, according to the latest forecast, there is no end to the snowfall anywhere in the near future.

This is Abby and I in front of our home.

The snow pile is above my waist.This is Mark and Abby braving the great outdoors... or at least our backyard. Notice how high the snow comes up on him. This is actually the amount of snow we have.This picture is obviously taken by the speed limit sign in front of our house. I just wanted to show you how the snow has almost buried it. This huge pile of snow is clearly due to snow plows cleaning off the roads, but I thought it was a cool lookin' picture anyways. (It makes it look like we have a ton of snow)

We decided to measure how much snow we have.... and here you go!

It has been so fun actually having a winter....you know with tons of snow... These are the kind of winters I remember. Although I enjoy the snow, I am not looking forward to the lenghth of time it is going to take for the massive piles of snow in my front yard to melt away. (It might be June!) But I won't complain to much...this area needs the moisture really bad.
